FIFA World Cup 2010

In case you hadn't noticed, the football World Cup starts tomorrow. Over the next few weeks there will be zillions of words typed regarding it, and sadly millions of trees will be cut down in order to provide the space for all those words. The internet will also be going mad, with lengthy articles being churned out by journalists, bloggers, website owners, reporters....

To quote Eddie Izzard in that Labour PPB though - I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to give you my predictions, and we can all sit back and see what happens. If you wish to predict along with me, drop me a comment!

  1. You and your gambling. Bloody hell eh?

I have had only my second football bet of the last twelve months on the World Cup (the first was Portsmouth to get relegated at 7/1 last June) I'm backing Greece to win their group at a mouth watering 8/1.

Oh, and lowest scouring? North Korea. I imagine if those boys go back without the trophy they will be scouring the streets of Pyongyang for their rest of their lives! As for the rest of your predictions, conservative but probably right (with perhaps Fabiano as top goalscorer)

Funnily enough, the first time I tried to work it out I got a USA vs Germany final. Funny old word...

  2. I think Argentina will do better (pro: Messi, con: Maradona) and England will do worse. France are shaky too.
